This week we have been learning about angles and Measurements! We had to figure out what the Acute,Obtuse,Right and straight angles. This is what I have did!

Perspectives and Opinions

Rugby League has already started and there has been a lot of celebrations happening at the moment! It has been a busy week for all the teams! This week I have been working on the Rugby league game and what my opinions on what the teams a feeling! I support every team playing and hope for the best! 

Maths Problems

this week we have been learning about the BEDMAS. We then had to make our own equation, once we have finish making 10 equations we had to pick a partner to work my equation out. And my partner was Tom. I then had to mark it to see if it was right. So I have a challenge for you! My challenge is to work my equation out and see how many you have equations got right and how many you got wrong.

Farming Flounder with kauri flats

Who else likes to eat flounders? I’m not a fan of eating flounders, but I know my family loves to eat flounders. This morning the whole pt england school walked to riverside ave to catch some Flounders. And yes we are not eating it but we are to farm the flounders. We are in partnership with Kauri flats.

Today in the morning all of the students from Pt England School all walked to riverside ave to catch Flounders. Why? So that when they grow we could put them back in the ocean. That because back in the days we had a lot of flounders, but nowadays we are getting less flounders then we had back in the days. We have caught over 20 flounders, which is pretty awesome!

When we got to our destination, Judah started off with a Karakia (Prayer), we then sang a Himene (Hymn), to bless the students and teachers catching flounders. We then shouted some words to entertain the flounder team. They will be placed in a special flounder tank where we could keep them safe and will take care of them until they grow, and then we will put them back where they belong.

We are looking forward to seeing them grow, we would also like to congratulate the flounder team.

Elections 2017 - week 7 & 8

Divided in parts

WALT: this week we are trying to divided in parts. And convert proper and improper fraction. 

Year 5 & 6 Camp Recount.

Last week we started our Year 5 & 6 camp. I got the opportunity to be leader for one of the camp groups. And with me was Ajani he was a leader as well. We started our camp on Tuesday the 22nd of March. We all had to meet in the hall so that our Principal, Mr Burt can talk to us.

Our first activity was Top town but Mr Jacobsen calls it Killing zone. We had to verse another group and they were the Kind’ a Krazy. If you didn't know what it is well it has a lot of obstacles courses. The first thing we had to do was to Take 3 trays and we had a packet of balloons, and we had to fill them up, then put them in the trays. Then we started to play and we tried to keep dry. And when all of our Water balloons were finished then we had to stop and sit down. The next thing was to use the skinny planks to get across the other side. Next was to go under the taou Pollen and that was no problem. Then Next was the slingshot and it went really well. Then we moved on the the gumboots challenge. We had to throw the gumboots to the same targets we used for the slingshot. And last but not least we had to get as much water from the bucket to the other, By using a sponge. Once we were finished we had to sit back down on the grass.

And it was a tie Between Kindonators and Kind'a Krazys. When then had to line up behind the two leaders. Then we moved on to our next Rotation.
