Kiwi Kids News
Recall:
1. Who is the main person or group of people in this news article? Dele Alli
2. What was the key event from the news article? Can you do the Dele Alli?
3. Where did this event take place? Anywhere in the world
4. When did this event take place? 3rd of september 2018
Thinking:
1. Find a quote from the main person in this news article? There is no quote shown in this article
2. In your own words describe what happened in this news article. This article about everyone in the world trying to do the dele alli. It became more popular, and it started to be the new trend
3. Find out where this event took place and include some information about this place. It does have any information about where the event took place.
4. Tell us when this event happened and explain what might happen in the future. This Dele alli trend is the new trend. I’ll be very honest, in the future I dont think this might not be as popular.
5. Explain in your own words why this event took place. It started from the football player, Dele Alli. After he scores goals he does his hand gesture. It recently became more popular.
6. Use the Dictionary in the bottom right hand corner to find the meaning of 3 words from the article.
- Craze: An Enthusiasm for a particular activity or object which achieves widespread but short-lived popularity
- Gesture: a movement of part of the body, especially a hand or the head, to express an idea or meaning.
- Viral: circulated rapidly and widely from one Internet user to another.

Nau mai, Haere mai Ki KPE, You’re listening to Korero Pt England, coming to you from Auckland New Zealand. My name is Kerstein and I’m a Year 8 at Pt England School. Joining me today is Samoa and she’s here to tell us about a book she has been reading.

Kia Ora Kerstein
So what have you been reading lately?
I have been reading a book called "The Secret Game Plan" written by Maria Samuela.
Tell us who the characters are in this book Please?
There is a girl named Mata, She likes to play rugby, and her one wish is to win one game against a boy called Sami and his friends.
Why does she want to win against them?
Thats because the boys in Mata's class, kept calling the girls useless and so the girls wanted to prove them wrong.
Tell us more about the Book?
Well while Mata was in class she wrote a secret game plan at the back of her writing book. She leaped over to whisper to Nga, saying "training at lunchtime time pass it on".
What do you think the message the author is trying to tell us?
It doesn't really matter what kind of gender you are, just know that you should not let anyone or anything come in your way.
Thanks for the korero Samoa
