This Morning we had a special visitor, that came to talk to us about Aspiration, Inspiration and Motivation. His name is Mr Patterson, Mr Patterson was talking to the year 7 & 8 block about what you would like to achieve in the future. He also was talking about a touching story about a 11 year old that goes to Manurewa intermediate.
The First he talked to us student about a formula which was A + I = M, also known as Aspiration, Inspiration which equals Motivation. After we had figured the three point's we asked us what those mean. As he asked us kids I was thinking that I would like to be a Police officer but my plan b, is to be a nurse, And I know that it would take a lot longer to study about it but that is something I would like to become.
Mr Patterson also talked about a touching story about a 11 year old boy giving his Lunch money to a homeless man. His name is Willy. His story was about how we saw a man sitting down crying, so we gave his lunch money and asked the man why was he crying. The reason why the man was crying was because he got kicked out of his house, His marriage is no longer happening and he has no job. But then things started changing for that man, because he got a job and also a rental house for him to live in. Willy is a brave boy, he isn't those kids who see him crying and just walks past that person, no Willy gave his lunch money without anybody knowing.
Then Mr Patterson just got back from Australia, he was meant to come on Monday but then he got a notification saying that his flight has got cancelled. As he was waiting in the line, as well as 100 other people he saw a young couple with three kids under 5 years old, and the first thing that came to his mind was that he was going to talk to that family and ask if they are okay. But he didn't just do that he also told that family to follow Mr Patterson to the front and they could be in front of Mr Patterson. And so He wasn't being a taker, but he was being a giver.
One thing that I have learnt was that instead of thinking about yourself, you should think about other as well. And the other thing I have learnt in life is that you should never walk past a homeless person, you should ask them if they a alright .
Great post Samoa...
ReplyDeleteI like the way you have thought about how you too can be a giver!

Andrew
