Creative Poems!!

Feeling the rocky ground
Seeing kids running around
Having the time of their lives
Giving away high fives
Kicking the ball up in the air
Having fun,
Like I just don’t care
Feeling a little scared
As I am not prepared

Lazyness!!

As I stretched, trying so hard not to fall back asleep. Another day in my life, where I feel lazy! As you can see from all three pictures it shows how I felt this morning.  I’m pretty sure yous all have that one day, where you feel like not moving besides getting comfy in bed!

On the top left corner it shows, that when I wake up I won’t be able to fully open my eyes. It’s one of the hardest parts about waking up, trying to get ready for school. That’s trying so hard not to fall back into bed and eyes closed again. On the right hand corner, shows that whenever I wake up there is always that sun that has to “shine bright” into your eyes! Last picture presents me getting up, and having a little stretch, before I get ready for school.

Dancing with the stars

This week we have been learning about a book "Dancing with the stars!" Our first task was to read the a book based on the question, on the presentation. We then had to create a poster, that will help other's through a tough time. Here are some of the things I said, on the poster! This poster that I have created doesn't just relate, to some of yous but also myself. I hope this poster could help you, Enjoy!

KPE - The Secert Game Plan

For the past few weeks, we have been learning how to do podcasting. We each had to pick a book, and explain to us what the book is about. We then had to pick partners to work with, so that they could interview us. Lately I have been reading about a book called, The secret game plan written by Maria Samuela. This book talks about a girl named Mata, she tries so hard to win against the boy. So that the girls could prove the boys wrong. Overall I found this book really interesting to read, and I suggest that you read it for yourself.

This will be my second time making a podcast. I really hope you try this out, because it was really fun to read about this book.

KPE - Not Nice Stories

For the past few weeks, we have been learning how to do podcasting. We each had to pick a book, and explain to us what the book is about. We then had to pick partners to work with, so that they could interview us. Lately I have been reading about a book called, Not Nice Stories by John Parker. This book talks about a boy who is smart, he wants to get smarter, so he decides to eat sheep brains. Overall I found this book really interesting to read, and I suggest that you read it for yourself.

This is my first time making a podcast. It was a really good experience to understand, more about what this book is talking about. I really hope you try this out, because it was really fun to read about this book.

High School Enrolments

This week we are learning to ask questions to help my understanding and others maths thinking. My class got spilt into two groups, and one group was in the ground, while the other group was doing rotations. We got given this equation, and we had to find out what A and B is, and how we came up with that question. The next page shows how my group worked out one of the questions.

Strike day!

More time to teach
Enough is Enough!  We need more with our teachers, without having students interrupting my one on one time with her/him.  We need more teachers at several schools because us students cannot learn anything, if there’s thirty other kids in one classroom.  For an example my teacher, Mrs Tele’a. She can never teach us anything. Without having to stop to talk to students, that has been sent here, for something they shouldn’t be doing.  Rather than writing reports about one student, teachers should focus more about their students learning.

Resourcing for additional needs
Different classes in Aotearoa have the same issues of teaching there rare students. By rare teachers have a difficult time teaching students, that don’t usually concentrate. My opinion to this topic is that we should have more teachers, to help our fellow students that are in need.  Students that are need, need extra help to catch up with the rest of the class. So that way students in need don’t find it difficult to learn, instead they can have more time with the teachers.

Better pay
Teachers need better pay! From my point of view I think teachers that have been here for over ten years, should get better pay than teachers that are coming now. Why? That because I think they deserve more than what they usually get. So overall my thoughts about this paragraph, is that we should get better pay. And have a lot more respect on how they work.

Conclusion.
So there you have it, here are my three reasons of why Strike day is so important. Teachers should have more time learning there kids, instead of having to write a reports about each person in a class. We should have more teachers in one classroom, because it is way easier for the people that are in need. Last, teachers should get more pay, than they usually get. Strike day is a really important thing in Aotearoa because its a message to the government, to get more teacher! So there you have it, I hope you understand how important this is to us.

Ned's Kindness Adventure!

This morning we had special visitors that came to our school, to talk to the whole school about something special.  Can you guess who it is? if you guessed ned your right. Ned also came with a friend called Cosmo, they’ve only been in New Zealand once, and visiting for a week. They are here to talk to us about how there adventure was in Kenya.

There first topic they talked about was about our superhero powers, which is our smiles.  He had heaps of reasons why our smile can change the world, for an example smile doesn’t just make people happy.  but it also brings everyone together. One of his quotes that stood out to me the most was that “Smiles break down walls”.  The reason to it is because it can bring people a happier life.

Then he started talking about the matters of other people, and what it means to care for others. He listed five things they weren’t just normal quotes, but they were important quotes for us kids to remember.  just by saying one little thing it can cheer someone up. The five things he listed down were, Different can be good, Include others, caring is cool and also each person matters a lot. Out of those five quotes only one of them stood out to me the most.  That quote was the last one which was, each person matters, because I feel like everyone should treat them as how you would want to be treated.

In every country we all know that there's languages that they speak.  In Kenya they have their own way of speaking their languages, where here in New Zealand we also speak different languages.  But most of us prefer to speak English because we are able to understand it. Whatever culture you are or whatever language you speak at home, feel free to express it around the world.  It’s a way to communicate to people that understand what your saying. I like to try new things, and I am willing to learn how to speak more than two languages. One of the languages I would like to learn is actually Filipino, I enjoy watching a lot of Filipino movies in my spare time.  I’ve never been to the Philippines but maybe in the future I could explore the Philippines, one day!

He then talks about the education, and compares the time we wake up and the time the students in Kenya wakes up.  Here in New Zealand we usually wake up at 7:00 or 7:30, but in Kenya its a lot different. Because students in Kenya wake up at 5:00am, every single day just for school.  My question is, Why is it that they wake up so early then we do? Is it because they live so far from where school is? As you all may know I attend Pt England School, and I only live a few blocks away from where school is.  But it’s a bit different for us seniors, we start a bit earlier than the younger students do. That because we need to prepare for the day.

It was a really good experience to know the difference, between the students here New Zealand and the students in Kenya.  It was also really good to know the five importance, of how to be kind to other people. How smiles can change the world. You can speak whatever language you would like to speak.  And the differences between the kids in Kenya wake up, and when the kids in Aotearoa wake up. I hope some of these things can help you, to be kind to others.

Tips on how to have a epic holiday

Who’s tired of having the same holidays over and over again?  If your sick and tired of having to do chores everyday during the school holidays, then here are some things you can try out, to make your holidays more fun.  I’m sure every kid reading this, can relate to what I just said, If that’s you keep reading! Take some of my tips and use them for your next school holiday!

I’m sure for every kid has a something to do in their house, Right? Well for me I know that my job is to make sure the house is clean, before I do anything else.  You wouldn’t want to walk on floors that are dirty, Dishes that are not cleaned and clothes just chucked on the floor. While your cleaning the house, try and be more creative so that you don’t get bored.  Like play music, just to keep you company. So the very first thing you should do, before you do anything else. Is to finish your chores, before mum or dad gets back!

Now that the chores are out of the way, we can now move on to our second idea.  Sometimes you just want to keep playing, but you know your starving and thirsty.  So what I suggest to you is to eat heaps before you go outside to play. For an example your cooking breakfast for your family, and you only make enough for your family to eat. Maybe think to make a bit more food and leave until lunch time, so that you won’t need to cook again. So remember to make sure to make more food, and eat heaps before playing outside.

I know yous all have that one sibling who just likes to be loud and just wants your attention.  Well I can tell you that once you have finished reading this, you will now know why he or she is being annoying. When this situation happens to me, I don’t just let them keep going.  I always share my devices with that person. So what I do is I give my device to my sibling, and I let them go on it for a while. While I watch tv, a few minutes later we then swap over.  It works really while in my family, so if that’s you then follow this tip and that situation won’t happen again!

Last but not least my last idea to make your holiday fun, is to play fun activities with your cousins or siblings, or even your neighbours.  Well I’m not really close to my neighbours, but if you are then maybe they could play with you. There are heaps of fun games to play that doesn’t cost anything like, Touch, Tag, hide and seek, rugby and other fun activities.  But if your playing rugby with your neighbours, remember to put on a mouth guard. Or else the next time you play you, it will be silent rugby!

So there you have it, here are my four tips on how to have a fun holiday.  But remember before doing anything else, first your chores. Make more food than you usually do, share your devices between your siblings.  Last but not least go outside and enjoy your holidays, with your neighbours or cousins!
