Perspectives and Opinions

Rugby League has already started and there has been a lot of celebrations happening at the moment! It has been a busy week for all the teams! This week I have been working on the Rugby league game and what my opinions on what the teams a feeling! I support every team playing and hope for the best!

How to engage your audience for Manaiakalani.

What does it take to make a good quality movie to keep your audience entertained for! Manaiakalani Film Festival, what does that mean? Every year we make a movie to show on the big screen! You probably have no idea what i’m trying to explain to you, well stay tune to follow these easy step on how to make an entertaining movie!

Look alive! When you're being asked to be in a video always look alive even when you don’t want to, just act like you do. When you're looking alive it will make your movie even more interesting to watch, and the audience will just want to keep watching more of it! If you're not going to look alive while filming then it will make your movie look boring, and it wouldn’t be fun to watch it. Even if you're not in the mood for filming, you still can smile until you have finish filming.

The last step is to Speak clearly, so that the audience knows what you're saying and what the topic is about. It is very important to speak clearly, so that we could hear everything you say. The easiest thing to do is write a script and learn it so that you know what your talking about. Always make sure when you're learning your script, have expressions so that you could make your film look Funny and also entertaining. As easy as that!

Here were some of my easy steps you could do to make your movie have good quality and entertaining for us to watch. I hope my advice was clear and understanding for you to read.

Achieving your personal best!

How would you Achieve your personal best? Or have your already achieved your personal best during school on athletics day? If you have no idea on how to achieve your personal best then follow my steps on how to achieve your personal best!

On Athletics day we have events like Shot Put, Javelin, High Jump, Discus, Relay and Sprints. Whatever activity you're not best at you should always try your best. There are heaps of activity you’re really good at, but your shout always train for the things you’re not best at.

Another way to achieve your personal best is to always stay calm in whatever event you’re in. If you don’t make it into the top 4, you shouldn’t always be sad, you should always keep your head high and always end with a smile. Why? Because it doesn’t matter what you come in these events, at least you tried your best!

Another to way to Achieve your personal best is to find somebody that you inspire. Once you have found somebody that you inspire, then always follow their example. It is always good to follow that person you inspire, because it would help you to achieve your personal best!. Well who do I inspire? Well my mother inspires me because she would always tell me to try my best even if I don't make it. So who do you Inspire?

So there you have it, follow my three steps then maybe one day you will achieve your personal best. What activity do I like on Athletics day? Well my favourite event on Athletics day is sprints because it will help me to achieve my personal best by running as fast as I could?

What it means to be a good role model?

Have you ever been recognised by someone as being a good role model? Or maybe you had someone in your life who has taught you how to become a really good role model? If you have absolutely no idea what i’m talking about, then follow my steps on how to become a good role model!

Well, being a good role model is someone who is always Confident in themselves and always positive. You wouldn’t want someone who always tries to put you down. For an example my friend Sabrina. She is always there for me even when i’m feeling sad. But most of the times she is always Encouraging me to do my personal best! Sabrina does anything to make me have a smile on my face everyday. A really good role model is somebody who is always there by your side even when things gets tough. And That is what a good role model should look like!

Another way to be a good role model is to always show respect to people around you. If your not showing respect then that’s just telling people that can not handle being a good role model. If you're stuck with an equation, but your teacher is talking to another student. What should you do? First you should wait for their conversation to finish and then you may ask your teacher for help. Treat others as you wanted to be treated! That is another way to be a good role model!

What I was trying to tell you is that a role model is somebody you would look up to forever. if you didn’t understand what I was trying to say then maybe read one more time to get the idea. And there you have it if you have followed my steps on how to become a good role model, then maybe one day you will be recognised a one.

WALT: use different strategies to solve maths problems.

Inspiration Talk!

This Morning we had a special visitor, that came to talk to us about Aspiration, Inspiration and Motivation. His name is Mr Patterson, Mr Patterson was talking to the year 7 & 8 block about what you would like to achieve in the future. He also was talking about a touching story about a 11 year old that goes to Manurewa intermediate.

The First he talked to us student about a formula which was A + I = M, also known as Aspiration, Inspiration which equals Motivation. After we had  figured the three point's we asked us what those mean. As he asked us kids I was thinking that I would like to be a Police officer but my plan b, is to be a nurse, And I know that it would take a lot longer to study about it but that is something I would like to become.

Mr Patterson also talked about a touching story about a 11 year old boy giving his Lunch money to a homeless man. His name is Willy. His story was about how we saw a man sitting down crying, so we gave his lunch money and asked the man why was he crying. The reason why the man was crying was because he got kicked out of his house, His marriage is no longer happening and he has no job. But then things started changing for that man, because he got a job and also a rental house for him to live in. Willy is a brave boy, he isn't those kids who see him crying and just walks past that person, no Willy gave his lunch money without anybody knowing.

Then Mr Patterson just got back from Australia, he was meant to come on Monday but then he got a notification saying that his flight has got cancelled. As he was waiting in the line, as well as 100 other people he saw a young couple with three kids under 5 years old, and the first thing that came to his mind was that he was going to talk to that family and ask if they are okay. But he didn't just do that he also told that family to follow Mr Patterson to the front and they could be in front of Mr Patterson. And so He wasn't being a taker, but he was being a giver.

One thing that I have learnt was that instead of thinking about yourself, you should think about other as well. And the other thing I have learnt in life is that you should never walk past a homeless person, you should ask them if they a alright .
